IOWA CITY, Iowa - The 19th-ranked University of Iowa women's gymnastics team dominated the Senior Night quad meet with a 196.500, on Friday night inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Gymhawks secured an undefeated season at home for the first time since 2022.
The Hawkeyes led from start to finish, sweeping every event. Iowa recorded a 49.375 on bars, tying for the fifth-best score in program history.
Sophomores Aurélie Tran and Sydney Turner notched two event titles each with career-high routines. Turner won vault (9.950) and beam (9.925) titles, while Tran earned bars (9.975) and all-around (39.600) titles. Tran’s 9.975 on bars tied for the highest score in program history. Fifth-year JerQuavia Henderson posted a season best 9.950, earning the floor title.
VAULT
The Hawkeyes started the night with a season-high score of 49.275 on vault. Turner led the lineup, with a 9.950, tying the ninth-best score in program history. Tran and Henderson (season-high) matched 9.875s, to share second place. Freshman Sophie Schriever added a 9.800. Rounding out the lineup, senior Gianna Masella and freshman Stella DePaola contributed 9.775s to give the GymHawks a .45 lead.
BARS
Iowa kept the momentum rolling in the second rotation, with a 49.375 on bars. Tran shined with a 9.975, securing first place. Freshman Daisy Bowles scored a 9.925, to take second place. Bowles' score tied for ninth best in program history. Masella matched her career-high with a 9.900, while Henderson added a 9.800. Schriever and Turner posted a pair of 9.775s to round out the lineup. At the halfway point, Iowa continued to lead.
BEAM
The GymHawks posted a 48.475 on beam to keep Iowa on top of the meet. Turner stuck her career-high routine with a 9.925, placing first. Freshman Maggie Ball matched her career-high, contributing a 9.875 to place second. Tran added a 9.825, securing third overall. The GymHawks continued to lead heading into the final rotation.
FLOOR
The Hawkeyes closed out the meet in dominant fashion, recording a 49.375. Henderson led the team with a 9.950. Tran contributed a career-high 9.925, to place second. Senior Hanna Castillo and junior Alyse Karenbauer matched 9.850s. Turner closed out her second-place all-around performance with a 9.800.
