THIS WEEK
The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team travels to Corvallis, Oregon, for the NCAA Corvallis Regional at Gill Coliseum on Saturday. The Hawkeyes will compete in Session II at 9 p.m. (CT) against No. 4 UCLA, No. 13 Minnesota and the final spot will be decided in a play-in meet between Washington and San José State.
This is the GymHawks 26th straight season with an NCAA Regional appearance (as a team and/or individuals), and second under head coach Jen Llewellyn.

SCOUTING THE FIELD
#13 Minnesota
• No. 13 Minnesota enters the meet 21-6, 7-2 B1G.
• The Gophers placed third at the 2026 Big Ten Championships with a 196.900.
#4 UCLA
• No. 4 UCLA enters regionals with a NQS of 197.540 and a season average of 197.542. • The Bruins won the Big Ten Championships scoring 198.100.
San José State
• San José State enters the meet with an NQS score of a 195.725.
• The Spartans finished third at Mountain West Championships with a 195.800.
Washington
• Washington heads into the postseason with a 195.420 NQS score.
• The Huskies took ninth at B1G Championships with a 195.475.
LAST TIME OUT
• Iowa placed fifth at the B1G Championships posting a 196.700 and first in session II toping Penn State, Ohio State and Maryland.
• Sophomore Aurélie Tran won a share of the Big Ten bars title with a 9.950, becoming the first Hawkeye to win the event since 2003.
• Tran earned All-Championship Team honors in the all-around, bars and beam.
• Sophomore Sydney Turner secured an All-Championship Team spot on beam (9.900), tying Tran for third place.
• Iowa tallied a season-high 49.275 on beam.
IN THE RANKINGS
• The Hawkeyes concluded the regular season ranked No. 12 on bars (49.235), No. 19 on vault (49.090), and are tied at No. 24 on both floor (49.193) and beam (48.973), based on National Qualifying Scores (NQS).
• Aurélie Tran ranks 13th nationally in the all-around (39.470) and fifth in the Big Ten. Tran also ranks 15th nationally and third in the conference on bars (9.925).
• Sophie Schriever ranks 25th nationally in the all-around (39.365) and ninth in the B1G.
• Sydney Turner ranks 29th nationally in the all-around (39.305) and 10th in the Big Ten.
TRAN-TASTIC SEASON
• Aurélie Tran is the only GymHawk to compete in the all-around at every meet this season, notching a career-high 39.600 on March 6.
• Tran earned WGCA regular-season second-team All-American honors on bars and in the all-around.
• Tran is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree (first team in 2026; All-Freshman Team in 2025).
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOKS
• Iowa set a program record with a 197.225 against Nebraska on Feb. 7.
• The GymHawks set a new program record on bars with a 49.450 (vs. Penn State, 2/21/26).
• Six Hawkeyes have landed in the program record book this season. They are as follows:

SHINING SCHRIEVER
• Sophie Schriever is the only freshman to compete in the all-around for the Hawkeyes, posting a career-high 39.475 (vs. Nebraska 2/7/26).
• Schriever earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Second Team and the All-Freshman Team.
HOME SWEET CARVER
• The Hawkeyes secured an undefeated season (9-0) at home for the first time since 2022.
• Against Nebraska (2/7), the Hawkeyes set a new attendance record of 4,100.
Q’S COMEBACK
• JerQuavia Henderson returned to the lineup in 2026 after last competing in 2023.
• Henderson earned her fourth career Big Ten honor (Second Team).
NEW FACES ON THE MAT
• The freshman class includes Oklahoma native Maggie Ball, Nevada native Daisy Bowles, Arizona native Stella DePaola and Utah native Sophie Schriever.
• Bowles earned Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week (2/24).
UP NEXT
The top two teams from each regional, along with the top all-around competitors and top event specialist on each event who are not on an advancing team, will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships on April 16 and 18 in Fort Worth, Texas.
