IOWA CITY, Iowa – Seven University of Iowa swimmers and divers will compete in summer championship meets from July 21 to Aug. 1.
Four divers are heading to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for the AAU Diving National Championships July 21-23. Third-years Stephanie Avram, Zita Bernatsky, Kamila Swanson and first-year Bianca Hutter will participate in the one-meter, three-meter and tower dives. Competition begins on the 21st with the tower, followed by the three-meter springboard event on July 22 and the one-meter on July 23.
Third-year Rachel Dildine is set to represent Team USA at the FISU America Games in Lima, Peru, from July 24 to 26. The Chesterton, Indiana, native will compete in the 100 fly on day one and the 100 free on day three of the Games. She will also be eligible for relays.
Wrapping up summer competition, Payton Flowers and Olivia Swalley are off to the Toyota National Championships in Irvine, California, July 28-Aug. 1. Flowers will compete in the 50 fly, 50 free, 100 back, 100 fly and 100 free. Swalley is entered in the 400 IM.
