NORMAL, Ill. – University of Iowa men’s and women’s cross country placed second at the Redbird Invitational at the Weibring Golf Club on Friday morning.

HEAR FROM COACH HASENBANK
“Kyle ran a great race, as he was confident from the start and led the way for 7,000 meters. Slader had a very solid performance in his first 8k. We still have a long way to go with a couple of our top guys missing a lot of racing and training last year. It was good to get an 8k under their belts. On the women’s side, Miriam, Elena and Hillary ran in lock step for most of the race and looked really good. Julia and Clare posted strong marks. Our freshmen, Avery and Noella, competed well today.”

Up Next: Iowa is back in action on Sept. 25 at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri.
