Logan Ogden

TitleDirector, Men's Basketball Athletic Performance

Iowa native Logan Ogden is entering his second season as the director of men’s basketball athletic performance for the University of Iowa men’s basketball program.

During his first season with the program, Ogden oversaw the physical preparation for a historic campaign in which Iowa won 24 games and advanced to the program's first Elite Eight appearance in 39 years. The Hawkeyes downed three higher-seeded teams — No. 8 Clemson, No. 1 Florida, and No. 4 Nebraska — as they became the lowest-seeded Big Ten team to ever reach the Elite Eight.

The What Cheer, Iowa, native arrived in Iowa City with 14 years of elite training experience, highlighted by a four-year tenure as the director of strength and conditioning at Utah (2021-25), where he provided year-round comprehensive training for the Utes’ men’s basketball program.

He also served in a director role at Utah State (2018-21) and Nebraska Omaha (2015-18), was an assistant strength coach at Augustana University (2013-15) and served as a graduate assistant at South Dakota State (2011-13). Recognizing his career achievements, Silver Wave Media's list of most impactful strength and conditioning coaches in the country included Ogden in August of 2022.

Ogden holds certifications through the CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), FRCms, USA Weightlifting (Sport Performance Coach Level 1), the Gray Institute (3D Maps) and is RPR-2 certified.  He achieved the highest honor in his profession when he was inducted as a Master Strength & Conditioning Coach in 2026.

As a student-athlete, Ogden was a two-sport student-athlete at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, competing in both football and track & field. He was a seven-time NAIA National Track Meet qualifier and earned NAIA All-America honors in 2011. Ogden was also a six-time GPAC all-conference selection in track and a two-time all-conference honoree in football.

Ogden graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Northwestern College in 2011 before earning a master's nutrition, exercise and food science from South Dakota State in 2014.

He and his wife, Caitlyn, have three children, Ellie, Rylee and Wyatt.
