2016 — Cross Country – ran season bests in 6,000 meters at Hawkeye Invite (19:15.6) and 10,000 meters at Regional Preview (26:04.4)… also competed at Bradley Classic (26:40.8-8,000 meters)… letterwinner.

High School — three-time all-conference and two-time all-district… named team’s most valuable runner in track his senior year… won conference title in 800 meters senior year… set school records in 1,600 meters, 3,200 meters and as part of 3,200-meter relay… 2016 National Merit Scholar.

Personal — Son of Kevin and Jill Sommer… has two brothers, Konner and Kole, and one sister, Lydia… mathematics, engineering major.
