Career Highlights — 2008 Big Ten outdoor high jump champion… NCAA regional qualifier.
2009 — Indoor – led team in high jump with season-best 6-10 1/4 for sixth place at Big Ten Championships… that mark ranks 10th on Iowa[apos]s all-time best performers list… won high jump at Iowa Invite (6-9 1/2) and placed second at Iowa Open (6-9 1/2)… Outdoor – led team in high jump, placing 12th at Big Ten Championships (6-9)… also competed in high jump at Sun Angel Classic (6-8 3/4), Tiger Track Classic (6-7 1/2), Drake Relays (6-6 3/4) and Illinois Invite (6-6 3/4)… letterwinner.
2008 — Indoor – won high jump with season-best 6-9 3/4 at Iowa Invite… that mark ranks 10th in school history… high jump runner-up at Jack Johnson Classic (6-8), placing 15th at Big Ten Championships (6 -6 3/4)… Outdoor – Big Ten high jump champion (6-10 3/4)… that collegiate-best mark ranks seventh in school history and qualified him for NCAA Midwest Regional… letterwinner.
2007 — Indoor – tied for seventh in high jump (6-8 1/4) at Big Ten Championships… runner-up in that event with a season-best 6-9 3/4 at Iowa Invite… that mark ranks 10th in school history… placed fifth in high jump (6-8 1/4) at Jack Johnson Classic… Outdoor – placed 13th in high jump (6-6) at Big Ten Championships… letterwinner.
2006 — Indoor – placed ninth in high jump (6-6 1/4) at Big Ten Championships… posted season-best high jump (6-6 3/4) at Iowa Open for second place… Outdoor – placed sixth in high jump (6-2 3/4) at Musco Twilight VIII.
High School — two-time conference high jump champion, winning district title senior year… placed third in high jump, third as part of 3,200-meter relay and sixth as part of distance medley relay at state meet senior year… set school record in high jump (6-6 1/4)… won high jump at 2005 Iowa State Indoor Classic (6-6 1/4)… lettered two years in football and basketball… four-year honor roll student and two-time academic letterwinner… track coach was Tracy Pugh.
Personal — born November 4, 1986… son of Jeff and Sue Kelly… his brother, Greg, high jumped at Loras College and his sister, Stacy, competed in basketball, softball and track at Wartburg College… attended same high school as Hawkeye teammate Matt Rammelsberg… pre-business major.
