2016 — Indoor –  led team in mile (4:05.37) and 3,000 meters (8:08.57)… ran 3,000 meters at Meyo Invite (8:08.57) and ISU Classic (8:09.34)… placed third in mile at Big 4 Duals (4:05.37) and sixth at Big Ten Championships (4:10.17), running 4:07.60 in prelims… anchored team-leading distance medley relay at Big Ten meet (9:52.97)…   Outdoor – led team in 1,500 meters (3:48.35) and 10,000 meters (30:10.32)… ran lead leg on team-leading 3,200-meter relay at Drake Relays (7:30.32)… that time ranks sixth all-time at Iowa… won 1,500 meters with a collegiate-best 3:48.35… that mark ranks 10th all-time at Iowa… placed third in 1,500 meters at Texas Invite (3:49.03) and 10th at Baldy Castillo Invite (3:50.91)… placed 23rd in 5,000 meters at Big Ten Championships (14:49.66) and 13th in 10,000 meters at San Francisco Distance Carnival (30:10.32)… academic All-Big Ten… letterwinner… Cross Country –  set school 6,000-meter record at season-opening Hawkeye Invite (18:12.8)… placed fourth at Illinois State Invite (25:23.56-8,000 meters) and ran at Roy Griak Invite (26:05.1-8,000 meters)… letterwinner.

2015 — Indoor – won 3,000 meters at Big 4 Duals (8:36.37), running event at ISU Classic (8:27.09)… placed eighth in mile at Husker Invite (4:18.71)… Cross Country – led team in three of six races… finished 17th at Big Ten Championships, recording 10th-fastest 8,000-meter time in school history (23:57.5)… placed third at Bradley Pink Classic (8,000 meters/24:14.1)… paced team at Notre Dame Invitational with a collegiate-best 24:46.8 (five miles)… letterwinner.

2014 — Cross Country – ran season bests in 8,000 meters at Big Ten Championships (25:06.6), five miles at Notre Dame Invite (25:17.0) and 10,000 meters at NCAA Midwest Regional (32:11.8)… team earned USTFCCCA all-academic honors… letterwinner.

High School — 2013 state champion in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters and distance medley relay… ran on the 1,600-meter relay that placed third at the 2013 state meet… cross country state champion (15:18.20) in 2013.

Personal — born June 3, 1995… son of David and Mary Melchert… has one sister, Meredith.
