2017 — Indoor – anchored school record-setting distance medley relay at Big Ten Championships (9:44.07)… placed eighth in mile with a collegiate-best and team-leading 4:04.22… that time ranks third all-time at Iowa… placed second in 800 meters at Black & Gold Premier (1:52.63)… ran mile at Meyo Invite (4:07.73), Big Ten Championships (4:08.79) and Border Battle (4:13.47)… placed second in 3,000 meters at Larry Wieczorek Invite (8:21.49)… Outdoor – won 1,500 meters with a team-leading 3:45.58 at Musco Twilight… that time ranks fifth all-time at Iowa… placed 15th in 5,000 meters with a team-leading and collegiate-best 14:11.52 at San Francisco Distance Carnival… that time ranks ninth all-time at Iowa… anchored team-leading distance medley relay at Drake Relays (10:01.90)… ran 800 meters at Baldy Castillo Invite (1:52.14) and placed fourth in 1,500 meters at Baldy Castillo Invite (3:47.72)… letterwinner.

2015 — competed for Samford University… Outdoor – NCAA East preliminary qualifier in 1,500 meters (3:44.79), placing 18th at meet… set school mile record (4:02.26)… Cross Country – placed seventh at Samford Tri-Meet (5,000 meters-15:58.8)…placed 11th at the Commodore Classic (8,000 meters-25:05.3)… placed 65th at SoCon Championships (27:24.4).

2014 — competed for Samford University… Indoor – won mile and ran on winning distance medley relay at SoCon Championships… ran collegiate bests in mile (4:08.29) at Auburn Invitational and 3,000 meters (8:26.34) at Samford Multi & Invitational… ran a season best 5,000 meters (15:30.32) at UAB Blazer Invitational… Outdoor – honorable mention All-American… qualified for NCAA Regional and NCAA Championships in 1,500 meters… ran collegiate bests in 800 meters (1:50.76) at Alabama vs. Mississippi Border Clash, 1,500 meters (3:44.89) at Georgia Tech Invitational… ran season best in 3,000 meters (8:30.94) at Battle of I-65 and and 5,000 meters (15:30.29) at SoCon Championships… Cross Country – competed in six meets for Samford University… placed 17th at Samford Dual Meet (5,000 meters-17:18.76), 15th at SoCon Championships (8,000 meters-25:05.54) and 35th at NCAA South Regional (10,000 meters-31:24.90).

2013 — competed for Samford University… Indoor – placed sixth in 800 meters at SoCon Championships (1:55.49), running a collegiate-best 1:55.00 in prelims… that time ranked second all-time at Samford… ran collegiate-best 4:13.91 in mile at Samford Multi, which ranked third all-time at Samford… ran third leg on distance medley relay that placed second at SoCon Championships in 10:06.61… Outdoor – placed third in 1,500 meters at the SoCon Championships (3:53.86) … ran lead leg on distance medley relay that set a school record of 9:57.99 at Bama Relays … ran collegiate best in 5,000 meters (14:52.07)… Cross Country – competed in six meets for Samford University… placed second at Samford Dual Meet (5,000 meters-16:27.29)… placed 28th with a personal best 25:37.44 at Crimson Classic (8,000 meters)…placed 29th at SoCon Championships (26:11.70) and 69th at NCAA South Regional (10,000 meters-31:42.65).

2012 — Cross Country – competed for Samford University… competed in all six meets during the season … earned All-Freshman honors at the SoCon Championships, placing 35th in 26:07.24 (8,000 meters) … one of only two Bulldogs to finish under 33 minutes in the 10,000 meters at NCAA South Regional, placing 77th in 32:43.8 … ran a season-best 20:06.76 at Auburn Invite (6,000 meters).

High School — six-time individual regional champion … placed fifth at the state cross country meet twice… placed second in 1,600 and 3,200 meters at state meet as a senior… set school records in 800 (1:54) and 1,600 meters (4:15).

Personal – born March 11, 1994… son of Will and Merrie Kay Jones … has one sister, Robyn Smith… communication studies major.
