2020 — Indoor – ran mile Black & Gold Invite (4:16.21), 3,000 meters at Larry Wieczorek Invite (8:29.03) and Hawkeye Invite (8:31.83) while competing unattached… academic All-Big Ten… Dean’s List student.

2019 — redshirted… Indoor – ran 3,000 meters at Black & Gold Premier (8:39.60), Larry Wieczorek Invite (8:43.71) and Jimmy Grant Invite (8:44.56), and mile at Hawkeye Invite (4:27.38) while competing unattached… Outdoor – ran 3,000 meters at Musco Twilight (8:42.47) while competing unattached… Dean’s List student… Cross Country – competed in six of seven races… Iowa’s second finisher at Pre-Nationals, and third finisher at Notre Dame Invite (24:17.35-5 miles) and B1G Championships (25:17.0-8,000 meters)… posted collegiate bests at Hawkeye Invite (18:25.3-6,000 meters), Pre-Nationals (24:34.7-8,000 meters) and NCAA Regional (32:05.2-10,000 meters)… academic All-Big Ten… letterwinner.

2018 — Cross Country – competed in five of six races… posted season bests at the Hawkeye Invitational (18:49.3-6,000 meters), Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational (25:40.98-five miles), Big Ten Championships (24:59.8-8,000 meters), and NCAA Midwest Regionals (33:17.6-10,000 meters)… the Hawkeye Invitational time ranks ninth all-time at Iowa… letterwinner.

High School — six-time all-conference and two-time all-state honoree… conference champion as a senior in 3,200 and 1,600 meters and 2016 three-mile cross country conference champion… holds school record in 3,200 meters (9:17)… Finished 2017 USATF Jr. Olympic National Championships 3,200 meters in 8:50 to earn gold… Top-10 in graduating class… coached by Shane Shemek, Kenny Lee, Scott Stoll and Doug Burke.

Personal — born March 24, 2000… son of Scott and Amy Smith… has one brother, Parker Smith… dad played basketball at the University of Northern Iowa… actuarial science and finance major.
