High School — five-time all-conference and all-district as well as two-time Elite All-State selection… 2017 cross country (5,000 meters) conference champion and 2018 3,200- and 1,600-meter track and field conference champion, as well as 3,200-meter state champion… Ran fastest 1,600- (4:18.47) and 3,200-meter (9:15.79) races in 2018 and fastest 5,000-meter race (15:33.31) in 2017… coached by Erik Belby… four-time Academic Excellence Award recipient… earned National Merit Scholar and AP Scholar with Distinction awards.

Personal — born February 14, 2000… son of Kevin and Jill Sommer… has three siblings, Karson, Kole and Lydia… father ran track & field at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and brother, Karson was a member of the University of Iowa cross country and track & field teams… electrical engineering major.
