James Fingalsen Season 2024-25

2025 -- Indoor - Ran a collegiate-best 1:49.10 in 800 meters and a season-best 47.86 in 400 meters at Tyson Invite... the 800-meter time ranks 10th all-time at Iowa... placed eighth in 600 meters with a collegiate-best 1:17.22 at B1G Championships... Outdoor - Ran second leg on team-leading and Drake Relays champion 4x800-meter relay that ran a world-leading 7:21.88... anchored team-leading 4x400-meter relay that placed second in at Drake Relays in 3:05.78... ran 800 meters at Bryan Clay Invite (1:48.74), Mt. SAC Relays (1:48.91), Musco Twilight (1:49.03), and B1G Championships (1:49.18).

2024 -- Indoor - Ran a collegiate-best 47.64 in 400 meters at New Mexico Collegiate Classic and a season-best 1:18.86 in 600 meters at Larry Wieczorek Invite... Outdoor - Ran a season-best 1:53.82 in 800 meters at ISU Alumni Invite... letterwinner.

 

 

High School -- All-conference and all-district Team MVP in 2023… team conference champion in 2023… earned four gold medals at the conference meet (sprint medley, 200-meters, 400-meters, 4×400 relay)… placed fourth at state in the sprint medley and 400-meters as a senior… fifth place in the 4×400 relay as a senior… Drake Relays champion in the 4×400 relay in 2022… fifth place finish at Drake in the 400-meters and 4×400 relay in 2023… also played four years of baseball, three years of basketball and one year of cross country… coached by Tyler Ketelsen and Kirk Ketelsen.

Personal -- Born July 20, 2005… parents are Bryan Fingalsen and Jennifer Stiles… has two siblings — Will and Andrew… exercise science major.
