Hawk Items… Made a team-high 56 3-point field goals in 2015-16, which is the fourth-highest total sunk by a junior in program history… had a perfect shooting performance from the floor (8-8 FG, 4-4 3-point FG) at UNI on Nov. 22, the first perfect shooting performance in program history since Crystal Smith accomplished the feat against Rider on Nov. 26, 2005.
2016-17 as a Senior… Academic All-Big Ten honoree… letterwinner… appeared in all 34 contests this season with three starts… netted a team-high 19 points on 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point range in Iowa’s WNIT win over Colorado on March 23… scored seven points and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line in Iowa’s WNIT Second Round win over South Dakota on March 18… netted eight points in Iowa’s WNIT First Round win over Missouri State on March 16… hit back-to-back 3-pointers to extend Iowa’s fourth quarter lead and seal a win over Wisconsin on Feb. 26… netted eight points, pulled down four rebounds, and dished out three assists in the contest… tied a career-high with seven rebounds at Indiana on Feb. 22… registered eight points, five rebounds, and three assists in Iowa’s win over Northwestern on Feb. 16… netted seven points and pulled down three boards at No. 13 Ohio State… scored six points and dished out two assists in Iowa’s win over Kent State… recorded five points, three assists and three steals in Iowa’s win over UNI… scored a team-high 17 on 5-10 shooting from three-point range in Iowa’s win over UMass… registered two points, two assists, and two steals in Iowa’s win at North Dakota… went 2-for-4 from 3-point range in Iowa’s win love Hampton on Nov. 13.

2014-15 as a Sophomore… Competed in 32-of-34 games this season… scored a season-high 10 points in Iowa’s win over USC Upstate on Nov. 14… netted 8 points on four occasions: vs UNI on Nov. 25, at No. 7 Lousville, vs Iowa State on Dec. 11, at No. 5 Maryland on Feb. 1… dished out a season-best four assists in Iowa’s victory at Northwestern on Jan. 29… Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
2013-14 as a Freshman… Competed in 34-of-36 games, missing two in the Big Ten Tournament due to injury… scored in double figures in three games, including Iowa’s win at Ohio State (10 points) on Jan. 19… notched first career double-figure scoring game in the Cancun Challenge in win over UNC-Wilmington, tallying a season-best 12 points and playing a season-high 23 minutes… grabbed a season-high seven rebounds in win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Nov. 13)… converted a season-best three 3-pointers in the win over North Dakota (Dec. 28)… posted a season-high five assists on three occasions, the last coming in the first round Big Ten Tournament victory over Illinois (March 6)… saw first career action in season-opener against UC Riverside (Nov. 8), tallying five points and a season-best three steals.
High School… ESPN HoopGurlz Top 100 recruit… first player in Lincoln Southeast High School history to start and play in every game since freshman season… all-state selection as a junior… named all-city as a freshman, sophomore and junior… selected as team captain every season since her freshman year… averaged 14.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.8 steals as a sophomore… averaged 16.3 points and 5.5 rebounds as a junior… led her high school to three state tournament appearances, including runner-up finish as a junior… claimed city, conference and district championships in each of her three seasons… also excels in the classroom as a member of the National Honor Society and honor roll student throughout high school.
Personal… Parents are Lisa and Dave Kastanek… has two older sisters, Allie and Marissa, and one younger brother, Marcus… Marissa was an All-ACC performer for the North Carolina State women’s basketball team… psychology and sociology major.
