Bailey Turner is in his third season with the Iowa Strategic Communications office. He was promoted to associate director in Sept. 2024 after serving as an assistant director from 2022-24.
Turner was a student assistant at Iowa from 2017-20. Following graduation, he was an assistant SID at North Texas in 2021-22 and an athletic communications assistant at Middle Tennessee State.
In his role with women’s basketball, Turner manages media activities and publicity for the school’s high-profile program. He works with the student-athletes and staff on best practices for speaking with the media, coordinates interview requests, manages game credentials, and works closely with the program’s @IowaWBB creative team.
In his time at Iowa, he has promoted three WNBA draft picks, a two-time National Player of the Year, consensus first-team All-America selection and Big Ten Player of the Year. The Hawkeyes have won a pair of Big Ten Championships, hosted the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament and made the national title game in consecutive seasons.
In additional to women’s basketball, he has oversight on men’s golf, women’s soccer, and rowing.
The Boone, Iowa, native earned his bachelor’s degree in sports and recreation management from the University of Iowa in 2020.
