Cameron Burrows was hired to the University of Iowa track and field coaching staff on September 22, 2025.

Burrows will oversee the jumps and multis groups. He returns to Iowa City after spending the 2021-22 season as an interim assistant coach.

Prior to joining the Iowa staff, Burrows spent three seasons at Coastal Carolina in the same role. He guided pentathlete Nikki Boon to a fourth-place finish and a program record at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2023.

Burrows coached five school records, 77 top-ten performances and seven regional qualifiers. Long jumper Terrique Webb and triple jumper Kayla Ulmer were Burrows' qualifiers from the Coastal Carolina squad in 2025. High jumper Cam Lorick was a regional qualifier 2022-24. Fellow high jumper Ebba Hedberg qualified in 2024 along with triple jumper Claire Spiller. 

Previously at Iowa, Burrows led James Carter Jr. to his collegiate best marks in the long jump (8.00 meters) and triple jump (16.12 meters). Carter Jr. was a regional champion in 2022, qualified for both events at the NCAA Championships and was a second-team All-American. Multi Austin West achieved his collegiate best in the decathalon under Burrows' direction with 8,179 points and placed fifth at the NCAA Championships in 2022. Overseeing the jumps group, Burrows guided the Hawkeyes to three runner-up finishes at the 2022 Outdoor Big Ten Championships. His group scored 27 points for the team.

Before Coastal Carolina, Burrows coached for one season at his alma mater, Tiffin University. As a student-athlete, Burrows was a 12-time NCAA DII All-American and 2021 NCAA DII national champion in the long jump. He qualified for the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships twice in his career. The Dragons were national champions in 2017.

Burrows earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management with a minor in marketing from Tiffin. He has two business administration master’s degrees – one with a sports management focus and another with a human resource management and marketing focus.
