Christopher Browne is in his first year as a recruiting specialist with the University of Iowa football program.
Browne joined the Iowa staff from Mississippi Valley State, where he coached the offensive line and led the recruiting efforts in 2022. Browne coached two all-conference offensive linemen and one HBCU All-American during his time at Mississippi Valley State. Browne received Football Scoop accolades as a Top 100 Young Minority on the Rise coach. Browne was also named one of five OCN Coaching Services top young offensive line coaches in all of college football in 2022.
Browne served on the coaching staff at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from 2019-21, working with the offensive line and tight ends. Three of his Southern players earned FCS All-America honors and five were recognized with all-conference recognition. Jatyre Carter was invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl and was drafted in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
In 2018, Browne served as an offensive line graduate assistant coach at Louisiana Tech, where he worked with three players who earned all-conference honors in Conference USA.
From 2016-18, Browne coached the offensive line and was run game coordinator at Division II Morehouse College. At Morehouse he worked with four all-conference and two All-America student-athletes. The Morehouse College rushing attack ranked second in the conference during that time.
Browne was a graduate assistant offensive line coach at Division II Lincoln University from 2014-16. Three Lincoln players earned all-conference recognition.
Browne is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Shaker Heights High School. He was a four-year starter and two- time FCS All-American left tackle at Southern University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business management in 2012.
Browne received his master’s in business administration from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, and is a member of the Eta Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.
Browne is the nephew of Dave Browne, a Hawkeye football letterman as a nose tackle in 1981 and 1982 under Hayden Fry.
