Hawks Finish 7th, 9th in Finals

The 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships wrapped up their fourth and final day of competition tonight with two Hawkeye women in the hunt for gold medals in their respective events. Sophomore Peaches Roach competed in the finals of the high jump and freshman Kineke Alexander ran in the final heat of the 400-meter dash.

Alexander finished in seventh place in the 400-meters with a time of 51.94. The freshman had the fourth fastest time entering the final heart when she ran a collegiate best 51.71 in the preliminary heat on Friday night.

Roach finished 9th in the high jump finals with a jump of 5-10.75. Sharon Day of Cal-Poly SOL won the gold medal when she cleared 6-4.
