“Fun day for us, really happy for our players. Important win for our team. Really happy for our staff and entire group of players. Did a great job getting ready, just happy with the outcome needless to say. Said last week thought that was the best we played, today I think we took another step forward. Happy about that. Our goal remains to get a little bit better each and every week. Coming into the game I thought the guys were really focused. Anytime we go on the road it is a little different from being at home, so I thought our guys had great focus, thought they played tough competed and really played with great energy for the entire sixty minutes.
Happy that we were able to control the game in basically all three phases. Offensively, got off to a little bit of a bumpy start initially but guys came through. Had good run pass balance, which is best for us obviously. Thought Spencer did a really good job distributing the ball around, and good to see some runs after catch too that always helps. Some good passes, both tight ends, Nico, and then to make yardage after catching the ball is a good thing. Happy about that.
Defensively, can’t say enough. Really good game for our guys defensively against a really explosive dangerous offensive football team. Our guys were wired in pretty good. Come up with a couple turnovers, that was big. Gave up one big play. To hold anybody to a field goal that is a good days work.
On special teams, think about the conditions you worry about every phase. Really start with one of the best things is we did nothing to really hurt ourselves. That is a starting point and then we did some good things on top of that. Good to see, and just overall a good team win for us. Very positive step, and for us to have a 19-day season with three to go, our focus stays the same, want our guys to enjoy this one, look at it on tape tomorrow and then come back to work and see if we can’t keep improving. Happy with the growth and the outcome of the game.”
