ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. University of Iowa track and field sent sprinters and hurdlers to the New Mexico Collegiate Classic and the distance and mid-distance runners to the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Indiana, on Friday.

The Hawkeyes got a preview of the NCAA Indoor Championships host site, which will be held in Albuquerque March 8-11.

At New Mexico, junior Damoy Allen began the day, speeding past the 200-meter competition in a lifetime best 21.01. After altitude adjustment to 21.08, Allen’s mark is seventh all-time in the Iowa record books and second-best on the team this season.
