The top-ranked University of Iowa women's wrestling team will compete in the NWCA National Duals on Jan. 10-11 at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Action on Friday is set to begin at 10 a.m. and on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Hawkeyes brought home five individual titles and 11 top-three finishes at the 2024 Soldier Salute. Iowa took home the team title for the second year in a row with 215.50 points. Brianna Gonzalez (117), Cadence Diduch (138), Macey Kilty (145), Kennedy Blades (160) and Kylie Welker (180) all finshed at the top of their weight classes.
PREVIEWING NATIONAL DUALS
Iowa enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed in the bracket and will face Aurora University in the first round. The Hawkeyes look to defend their 2024 title where they defeated top-tanked North Central in the championship match.
Iowa will travel 18 student-athletes to National Duals: Sterling Dias, Ava Bayless, Emilie Gonzalez, Val Solorio, Brianna Gonzalez, Cali Leng, Ava Rose, Emily Frost, Emmily Patneaud, Nanea Estrella, Cadence Diduch, Macey Kilty, Reese Larramendy, Kennedy Blades, Kylie Welker, Naomi Simon, Sam Calkins and Alivia White.
