QUALIFYING FOR NATIONALS
The Hawkeyes will head to Indianola, Iowa, to compete for a spot at the National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships in Coralville, Iowa. The top four wrestlers at each weight class at regionals will qualify for the NCWWC National Championships. Action inside of Cowles Fieldhouse will begin at 10 am CT on Saturday.
PREVIEWING NCWWC REGION VII CHAMPIONSHIPS
Iowa travels to Indianola for regional championships hosted by Simpson College for the second straight season. With region reallignment the Hawkeyes will see Augsburg, Augustana (IL), Dubuque, Loras, Upper Iowa, Simpson, Iowa, Cornell College, Central College, Buena Vista, Sioux Falls and Wartburg. Last season, Iowa had all 15 regional participants qualify for nationals. Iowa also claimed the Region V title, accumulating 220 team points in the tournament. Of the 15 participants this season, four are returning national champions and seven were 2024 All-Americans.
Hawkeyes traveling to Simpson: Sterling Dias, Rianne Murphy, Ava Bayless, Emilie Gonzalez, Brianna Gonzalez, Cali Leng, Emmily Patneaud, Nanea Estrella, Macey Kilty, Reese Larramendy, Kennedy Blades, Kylie Welker, Naomi Simon, Jaycee Foeller and Alivia White.
