High school honors – – Named to Champaign News-Gazette all-state team as a senior… named team MVP as both a junior and senior… first-team all-conference and all-state as a senior… second-team all-conference and all-state as a junior … earned all-conference honors as a sophomore… Career – – Played both tackle and end on defense and guard and tackle on offense… prep team posted 21-3 record his final two seasons, winning conference title his sophomore and senior seasons… team reached state playoffs three straight seasons… recorded 46 tackles as a senior, with 15 tackles for loss, eight sacks and two forced fumbles… collected 56 tackles as a junior, including 11 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks, to go with five forced fumbles and three pass break-ups… totaled 48 tackles as a sophomore, including seven tackles for loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles… team captain as junior and senior… also lettered in baseball.
