Tanner Krueger

Tanner Krueger is in his third year with the University of Iowa football program. After serving as an offensive graduate assistant coach in 2024, he has been an analyst since 2025 assisting with the Hawkeye receivers.

In his two years on the Hawkeye football staff, Iowa won a combined 17 games, including a 34-27 win over No. 14 Vanderbilt in the 2025 ReliaQuest Bowl. The Hawkeyes finished 2025 ranked No. 17 nationally. In 2024, Krueger was on the staff that worked with consensus All-American running back Kaleb Johnson.

Krueger joined the Iowa staff after serving four years on the Wayne State College (WSC) football staff. He coached the wide receivers in 2023, mentoring a first-team all-league and Offensive Newcomer of the Year for the conference. Krueger worked with the running backs in 2022 and tight ends his first two years as a graduate assistant. Other roles included serving as the travel coordinator and video coordinator.

Krueger played quarterback at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. A four-year lettermen and two-year starter, he was a team captain and was an all-conference honoree his junior and senior seasons.

Krueger earned his bachelor’s degree in sports communication at Simpson and master’s in organizational management at WSC.

Krueger graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 2016.
