Bob Rahfeldt

Bob Rahfeldt is in his 25th season with the University of Iowa football program. He started as a student assistant before being hired as the assistant video coordinator in 1999. Rahfeldt assumed the role of director of football video operations in 2013, where he manages all video and technological needs for the Hawkeye football program. 

Rahfeldt oversees a staff that produces both analytical and production video. He and his staff handle the videotaping of all practices and games, assist the football coaching staff with opponent scouting breakdowns, contribute to weekly motivational videos, and produce various recruiting and highlight content. 

During his tenure, Iowa has logged 21 winning seasons, won two Big Ten Championships and two Big Ten West Division titles, finished in the upper division of the Big Ten 23 times, and appeared in 14 January bowl games, including the 2016 Rose Bowl Game. Iowa has won 198 games over the past 23 seasons, including 126 Big Ten victories. 

Since becoming director, Rahfeldt has spearheaded numerous technological advances and was instrumental in the program’s transition to paperless playbooks and cloud-based video analytics. Additionally, he was tasked with planning the technological and video integration for the Richard O. Jacobson Football Operations Center within the Stew and LeNore Hansen Football Performance Center. 

Rahfeldt was named the Big Ten Conference Video Coordinator of the Year for the 2016-17 season by the Collegiate Sports Video Association. 

Rahfeldt earned his bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Iowa in 1998.
