2025 -- Indoor - Posted a collegiate-best 64-11 1/4 (19.79m) in weight throw at at B1G Championships.

2024 -- Indoor – Placed third in shot put at Jimmy Grant Invite (56-8, 17.27m)… posted a collegiate-best 63-0 (19.30m) in weight throw at Wisconsin Windy City Invite… Outdoor – Posted a collegiate-best 169-10 (51.78m) in hammer throw at Jim Click Shootout and a season-best 165-4 (50.40m) in discus at Musco Twilight… letterwinner.

2023 -- Indoor – Did not compete… Outdoor – Placed fourth in discus with a collegiate-best 185-4 (56.51m) at U20 USATF Championships.

High School -- 2022 discus state champion, throwing 204’9” to break the state-meet record (No. 4 in the country in 2022)… 2022 Gatorade Iowa Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year… placed fifth in discus at state meet as a junior… conference champion in discus as a junior and senior, helping Indianola to a conference title in 2021… set school record in discus (204-9)… placed eighth in discus at 2022 Nike Outdoor Nationals… second team all-state selection in football as a senior, first team all-district unanimous selection in 2021 and 2022… two-year football team captain and three-year letterwinner… placed fifth in Class 3A 195-pound bracket at state wrestling meet as a senior… received wrestling team’s Ironman Award all four years… coached by Matt Oliver and Mitch Curtis… Ambassador for the Indianola Community Youth Foundation, Freshmen Advisory Leader for Indianola’s Mentors in Violence Prevention program… Member of the Silver Cord Program where he volunteered with St. Thomas Aquinas Church, a local homeless shelter and was a camp counselor for adults with special needs.

Personal -- Born June 14, 2003… parents are Jeremy and Nicci Whalen… has two siblings – Maya and Will… health promotion major.
