Duncan joins the Iowa Softball staff as an assistant coach for the 2024-2025 season.
Duncan has extensive experience at both the high school and collegiate level. She began her coaching career as a graduate assistant with the University of Southwest Louisiana softball team in 1998 following four years as a student-athlete for the very same program. In 2001, she was named the head coach at her alma mater North Scott High School in Eldridge, Iowa, where she remained for three years before making the move back to Louisiana to accept an assistant position with the LSU softball program.
After five years with the Tigers, Duncan returned to the Quad Cities to join Pleasant Valley High School in Bettendorf, Iowa, where she stayed for 16 years as an at-risk coordinator and special education instructor. She served one season in 2007 as the assistant softball coach before being named head coach in 2008. Duncan remained the head coach at Pleasant Valley for nine seasons before beginning her own private hitting instruction business in 2017. In 2019, she helped coach for the University of Iowa softball team.
A native of Long Grove, Iowa, Duncan was a multi-sport athlete at North Scott and was the Iowa Player of the Year during her playing career. She is now a member of the Hall of Fame. At Southwestern Louisiana (now Louisiana-Lafayette), she started at shortstop all four years for the Ragin' Cajuns and played in two Women's College World Series.
Throughout her coaching career, she has seen multiple high school playoff appearances at North Scott and Pleasant Valley, bringing home a state championship in 2002 with the Lancers. She also coached in two Women's College World Series and was a part of a staff that was named the NFCA Coaching Staff of the Year while at LSU.
