Annie Galvin Season 2024-25

2024-25 - Won 100 back with a collegiate-best, team-leading, and eighth rank all-time at Iowa time of 54.30 at Hawkeye Invite… posted collegiate best in 200 IM (2:04.16) at Hawkeye Invite… posted season best in 200 back (1:58.66) vs. Iowa State, and 100 fly (55.81) at Hawkeye Invite… won seven individual races (three 100 back and four 200 back)... swam anchor on team-leading 200 free relay (1:32.67) at Big Tens… swam first leg on team 200 medley (1:40.15) and 400 medley (3:40.17) at Big Tens… swam on three winning 200 medley relays… named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week (Dec. 18)... Dean’s List student (Fall 2024)... Academic All-Big Ten honoree… letterwinner. 

2023-24 — Posted season bests in 100 back (54.87), 200 back (1:58.65), and 100 fly (55.42) at B1G Championships, which all ranked second on the team… placed 22nd in 200 back (1:58.65) and swam anchor leg on 200-free relay that placed 10th (1:32.84) at B1G Championships… posted season bests in 50 free (23.99) and 200 IM (2:05.53) at Hawkeye Invite… won three individual event races… CSC Academic All-District honoree… Dean’s List student (Fall 2023, Spring 2024)… named Alison Pennington Haddon Strength of Character Award winner… letterwinner.

2022-23 — Competed at Kentucky… clocked season bests in 200 IM (2:03.59) and 100 fly (55.69) at Ohio State Winter Invite… placed fourth in 200 fly vs. Cincinnati (2:07.64)… made two finals at Ohio State Invite, placing 33rd in the 100 back (55.46) and 42nd in the 200 back (2:00.81).

2021-22 — Competed at Kentucky… won 100 back (54.57) and 200 back (1:57.47) at Ohio State Winter Invite, also placing fifth in the 200 IM (2:03.78)… saw action in five dual meets, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 100 fly (59.06) against Cincinnati… placed sixth in the 100 back (58.24) versus Ohio.

 

High School — Six-time Iowa State Championship finalist, earning silver in both the 100 back and 200 IM as a senior… team captain as a senior… led team to three state titles… three-time first team All-State selection… competed for Ames Cyclone Aquatic Club… U.S. Open qualifier and USA Swimming Scholastic All-American… set multiple team and state records… won 100 backstroke at 2021 Iowa Seniors… finaled in 100-meter backstroke at 2018 Rochester Futures… three-time sectional finalist… participated in high school orchestra… four-year academic honor roll student.

Personal — Parents are Jennifer and Jeremy Galvin… has two siblings – Lillie and Ben… management major.
