Aleksandra Olesiak Season 2022-23

2022-23 — Led team in 200 breast (2:16.69) and swam second-best 100 breast (1:03.42) and 200 IM (2:05.47) on team… won 200 breast at Northern Iowa… swam on one 200-free relay, five 200-medley and one 400-medley relay… Iowa’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award winner… Academic All-Big Ten… letterwinner.

2021-22 — Led team in 100 breast (1:03.59), 200 breast (2:20.52) and 200 IM (2:06.69)… competed at the Big Ten Championships as a member of the team-leading 400 free, 200 and 400 medley relays… placed 24th at the Big Ten Championships in 100 breast (1:04.04)… won four event titles during the regular season… Academic All-Big Ten…Dean’s List student (Fall 2021).

2020-21 — Swam collegiate bests in 100 breast at Big Ten Championships (1:02.06),which ranks sixth all-time at Iowa… also swam a collegiate-best in 400 IM (4:34.59)… posted season bests in 200 breast (2:16.19) and 200 IM (2:04.58)… led the team in the 200 breast and was second in 100 breast… scored in four events at the Big Ten Championships… member of team-leading 400-medley relay (3:37.98) that placed seventh and team-leading 200-medley relay (1:40.22) that placed eighth at conference meet… those times rank seventh, and sixth, respectively, all-time at Iowa… also placed 22nd in the 100 breast (1:02.08) and 24th in the 200 breast (2:16.19) at Big Ten meet… Academic All-Big Ten.

 

2019-20 — Tallied an NCAA “B” qualifying standard in the 200 breast, leading the team with a time of 2:13.92… that time ranks sixth all-time at Iowa… swam on school record-setting 400-medley relay (3:36.18)… also led the team in the 100 breast (1:02.39)… scored in two events at the Big Ten Championships, placing ninth in the 400-medley relay (3:36.18) and 21st in 200 breast (2:13.92)… also recorded collegiate bests in the 50 free (25.13) and 200 IM (2:04.49).

High School — Won 100 and 200-meter breast and was runner-up in 50-meter breast at 2018 TYR ISCA Summer Senior Championships… All-American team qualifier as a junior… Colorado All-State A team as a junior… two-time team MVP… state runner-up in the 100 breast as a sophomore and junior… placed fifth at state in 200 IM as a sophomore and junior and 14th as a freshman… conference champion in 100 breast as a junior… also placed second in 200 IM… conference runner-up in 100 breast as sophomore… school record holder in 100 breast (1:02.91), 200 IM (2:08.29), and 200-medley relay (1:51.30… top times are 1:15.24 (100 LCM breast), 2:17.95 (200 breast), and 1:01.62 (100 breast)… three-time All-America Academic Award… Principal’s Honor Roll recipient all four years… cum laude recipient… National Honor Society… high school coach was Mike Doane.

Personal — Born Oct. 8, 2001, in Manhattan, N.Y…. daughter of Maciej and Lidia Olesiak… has a younger brother, Jakub… human physiology major.
