Emma Callahan Season 2022-23

2023 — Indoor –placed fourth in shot put with a collegiate-best 50-6 1/4 (15.40m) at Jimmy Grant Invite… that mark ranks eighth all-time at Iowa… Outdoor – posted season bests in shot put (46-3 1/2, 14.11m) and hammer throw (139-2, 42.42m) at Hurricane Invite… Dean’s List student (Fall 2022, Spring 2023).

High School — three-time All-American in shot put, earning all-state honors as a junior and senior… won state shot put title senior year, placing second in discus… runner-up in shot put at indoor nationals senior year, placing second as a junior… state runner-up in shot put junior year, placing fifth in discus… two-time conference champion in shot put, winning discus title senior year… set school records in indoor shot put (50-3), outdoor shot put (50-10 3/4), weight throw (48-11), and discus (137-8)… named Athlete of the Year senior year… coached by Matt Callahan… three-year letterwinner in volleyball, setting school record for highest serving percentage… high honor roll student, earning perfect attendance… member of Youth for Christ and SADD clubs.

Personal — born June 25, 2003… parents are Matt and Barb Callahan… both parents competed in track at Slippery Rock University… has one sibling – Rachel… nursing major.
