Underwood In First Place

MISSION VIEJO, CA – University of Iowa junior diver Nancilea Underwood is currently in first place in the individual three-meter event at the 2004 Speedo National Diving Championships in Misson Viejo, CA. Her score of 464.01, through the semifinal round, leads U.S. Olympic qualifier Kimiko Soldati.

Underwood is also in third place in the women’s three-meter synchro with synchro teammate Cassidy Krug of Stanford with a score of 240.66. Olympic qualifiers Cassandra Cardinell and Sara Hildebrand lead the competition through the semifinals with a score of 256.71.

Finals in both events will be held Saturday. Underwood is a native of Spring, TX.
