Andy Lightfoot, four-year offensive lineman at the University of Iowa, will be the honorary captain when the Hawkeyes face Montana Saturday. The Hawkeyes face the Grizzlies in the season opener in Iowa City. The game is sold out and kickoff is set for 11:03 a.m. in Kinnick Stadium.
Lightfoot lettered four straight years (1999-2002) and played on Iowa’s first two bowl games (Alamo and Orange) under current Coach Kirk Ferentz. Lightfoot was three times named to academic all-America and academic all-Big Ten teams (2000-2002).
He will accompany the Iowa captains to the center of the field for the pre-game coin-flip. He will also be with the Hawkeyes on the sidelines and in the locker room before and after the game.
