GENEVA, Ohio – University of Iowa junior Myreanna Bebe won the women’s 60-meter hurdles in the Big Ten Indoor Championships on Saturday with a new school record. Bebe bettered her previous record time, crossing the finish line in 8.07 and earning first-team all-Big Ten honors.
“We had a ton of terrific individual performances this weekend led by Big Ten Champion Myreanna Bebe,” Iowa Director of Track and Field Joey Woody said. “A year ago she was lying on the track after falling with tears of sadness and disappointment, but today she was celebrating with tears of joy.”

The men’s and women’s team each finished third in the conference meet with 98 and 85 points, respectively. The Wisconsin men and Michigan women took home the team titles.
“Overall I’m very proud of how our teams competed this weekend,” Woody said. “We fought very hard from the very first event to the last. The athletes never gave up and kept bringing it all weekend. We just fell a few points short of our goal, but we are very motivated to make some noise at NCAAs in two weeks and build towards the outdoor season.
Three additional Hawkeyes earned second-team all-Big Ten honors, including LaSarah Hargrove with a season-best 23.37 in the 200 meters, Tyler Olson with the third-fastest 600-meter time (1:16.13) in program history, and James Carter, Jr. in the triple jump with a 15.91-meter (52’ 2.5”) mark.
In the women’s 200 meters, junior Paige Magee climbed the Iowa top-10 list, reaching fourth in program history with a time of 23.46. The record marks kept flying in with the fourth-fastest men’s 600 meters (1:16.51) from Spencer Gudgel, sixth-fastest women’s 400 meters (53.28) from Audrey Biermann, sixth-longest triple jump (15.46 meters; 50’ 8.75”) from Deandre Stapleton, Jr., and the seventh-fastest women’s 600 meters (1:29.03) from Aliyanna Dorn.
