WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — University of Iowa swimming and diving concluded the B1G Quad Meet, adding two second-place finishes and four season bests at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center on Saturday.
“We were much improved on day two of competition,” Iowa head coach Nathan Mundt said. “We had confidence from the first event this morning all the way through the session. If you have confidence and perform aggressively, good things will happen. We’re excited to return to Purdue in just a few weeks for the Big Ten Championships.”
The 400 IM kicked off Iowa’s success with freshman Olivia Swalley placing second with a time of 4:16.59. In the same race, freshman Mallory Kell posted a season-best time of 4:27. Sophomore Leslie Wendel followed up in the 100 fly with a time of 58.37 to get herself a new season best.
Freshman Jenna Kerr posted a second-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:46.09, improving her best time of the year. Sophomore diver Geneva Pauly also had a successful day. Pauly placed fifth in the platform dive with a score of 232.10 to secure a season best by ten points.
