Hawkeyes Face Denver on Day 2 of Husky Invitational

SEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team continued competition at the Husky Invitational on Saturday, taking on Denver in both singles and doubles play.

In doubles, the Iowa duo of Nikita Vishwase and Pia Kranholdt battled but ultimately fell to Denver’s Claudia Martinez de Velasco and Natalie Cinkova, 6-4.

In singles, Vishwase dropped a hard-fought match against Andrea Burguete Beltran, 6-0, 6-3. Kranholdt was defeated by Louise Wikander, 6-1, 6-1, while Jessica Matthews lost a close match to Marley Lambert, 6-4, 6-2.

The Hawkeyes will continue competition tomorrow as the Husky Invitational rolls into its final day.
