Hawkeyes Head East for Journeymen College Duals

ON THE MAT

The top-ranked University of Iowa women's wrestling team will head to Albany, New York, for the Journeymen College Duals this weekend. Action inside of the Washington Street Armory will begin at 11:15 am CT on Saturday.

PREVIEWING JOURNEYMEN COLLEGE DUALS

Iowa is set to have four ranked matchups on Saturday. The Hawkeyes first matchup of the day will be 12th-ranked Lock Haven. The Eagles are 7-5 on the season with ranked wins over Utica and Wisconsin-Stevens Point. 

The Hawkeyes will then face 15th-ranked Sacred Heart. Iowa is 1-0 all-time against the Pioneers, defeating them 40-0 last season. The Pioneers are 7-6 this season with ranked wins over Northern Michigan and East Stroudsburg.

The third match will be against No. 19 Elmira, who is 5-3 this season with wins over East Stroudsburg, New Jersey City, Utica, Lock Haven and Mount Olive. 

The Hawkeyes close out action against sixth-ranked Presbyterian. Iowa is 2-0 all-time against the Blue Hose. Presbyterian is 10-3 this season and took fifth at National Duals. 

Hawkeyes traveling to Albany: Sterling Dias, Rianne Murphy, Ava Bayless, Emilie Gonzalez, Brianna Gonzalez, Cali Leng, Emily Frost, Emmily Patneaud, Candence Diduch, Nanea Estrella, Reese Larramendy, Ella Schmit, Kennedy Blades, Naomi Simon and Alivia White.
