At Iowa Central CC (2012-13) — Second-team all-region honoree as a sophomore after going 7-3 with a 3.12 ERA with 47 strikeouts… led team to a 37-16 record and a 16-8 conference mark… went 5-2 record with a 3.75 ERA over 62 innings as a freshman… earned academic all-region honors as a freshman.
High School — Second team all-state selection by the Iowa Newspaper Association… three-time all-conference selection… went 6-4 with a 2.38 ERA with 68 strikeouts as a senior, was 6-2 with a 3.27 ERA with 49 strikeouts as a junior, and 2-3 with a 1.72 ERA with 32 strikeouts as a sophomore… team went 89-35 during his final three seasons… advanced to the state semifinals as a sophomore and senior… led Fort Dodge to a conference title in 2010… also played football, where he was a two-time first team all-conference linebacker… member of the National Honor Society… high school coach was Matt Elsbecker.
