2013 Honors — Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree… Academic All-Big Ten. 2013 — Ranked second on the team with a 2.88 ERA… made 17 appearances (15 relief, two starts)… allowed 10 earned runs in 15 relief appearances, holding opponents scoreless in 11 of the 15 outings… tallied both of his two saves in Big Ten play, which tied for seventh among Big Ten athletes in conference games… picked up second save April 20 at Penn State, tossing three scoreless innings in relief of starter Andrew Hanse… pitched four shutout innings April 14 vs. Kansas State, scattering three hits… collected first save April 7 vs. Nebraska, inducing a 4-6-3 double play to end the game… threw 2 1/3 innings vs. Cornhuskers, allowing two runs on five hits… pitched April 2 vs. Western Illinois, tossing a perfect sixth inning… allowed zero runs over 5 2/3 innings against Omaha in two appearances… took a no-decision in his first start against West Virginia on March 10, throwing five innings, allowing three earned runs, and striking out five… made two appearances during the Hawkeyes’ four-game trip to Little Rock, Ark., throwing seven innings without allowing an earned run.. collected first win of the season at Texas A&M Corpus Christi after throwing three innings of relief, allowing one run on one hit with one strikeout.

2012 Honors — Named Academic All-Big Ten. 2012 — Made seven appearances on the mound, including two starts… finished with a 0-1 record and an ERA of 8.79… compiled nine strikeouts in 14.1 innings pitched… tossed a season-high five innings on April 4 against South Dakota State.

2011 Honors — Academic All-Big Ten selection. 2011 — Saw action in 12 games with eight starts… finished with a 9.45 ERA and a record of 1-4… allowed 35 earned runs in 33.1 innings pitched… tallied 12 strikeouts… recorded a 3.24 ERA in home games… limited batters to a .225 average with two outs… pitched a career-high 6.1 innings against South Dakota State (March 29)… allowed one earned run over six innings to earn first career win against Coe College (April 6).

2010 — Appeared in 16 games, all out of the bullpen… the 16 appearances ranked the most of any Iowa freshman and was fifth on the team… recorded an 8.14 ERA… opponents hit .214 with two outs… appeared in three conference contests… allowed no runs on three hits in 2.2 innings pitched, finishing with a perfect 0.00 ERA in the Big Ten… went a career-long three innings against Northern Illinois (May 21)… struck out a career-best two in one inning against Villanova (Feb. 28).

High School — A three-time all-conference, all-district and all-state selection… named team captain and MVP his senior season… posted a 10-1 record with a 1.80 ERA and 70 strikeouts his senior year… compiled a 29-11 record in his high school career on the mound… member of the 2009 Fort Dodge conference winning team… honor roll student… finished in the top 10 percent of his class… Bernie Saggau Award winner… National Honor Society member… Youth in Action.
