#27 Jason Foster Season 2018-19

2019 — Went 1-0 with a 5.79 ERA in 24 appearances, spanning 28 innings… had 23 strikeouts to 17 walks… went 2 1/3 innings allowing one run on one hit against Michigan State (5/11)… pitched two perfect innings to combine for a 1-0 shutout series-clinching win over No. 18 UC Irvine (5/4)… tossed 1 1/3 perfect innings against Western Illinois, striking out a pair… pitched a career-best 2 1/3 innings against Illinois State (4/3)… earned his first win as a Hawkeye, tossing 1 1/3 perfect innings against Clarke (4/2)… logged two shutout innings at No. 19 Oklahoma State, fanning five… made three appearances at Hawaii… tallied his first save at Hawaii (2/23), allowing one run on two hits over two innings.

At Wright State (2015-18) — Made 39 appearances, posting a 3.40 ERA over 76 2/3 innings… limited hitters to a .236 batting average… earned second-team All-Horizon League honors in 2017… helped team to three Horizon League titles (2015, 2016, 2018), three NCAA Regionals (2015, 2016, 2018) and two NCAA Regional Championships (2015, 2016)… posted a 3.02 ERA with 21 strikeouts over 44 2/3 innings in 21 appearances in 2018… did not play the 2016 season.

High School — Two-time all-league honoree… hit .365 and posted a 1.94 ERA as a senior… also played football and basketball… high school coach was Nate Hillery.

Personal — Born Feb. 21, 1996… son of Jason and Lisa Foster… majoring in sport and recreation management.
