#64 Leighton Jones Season 2026-27

2026 -- Started first three games at left guard...  helped team tally 32 first downs and 640 yards of total offense, which rank first and second-most under Coach Kirk Ferentz, and 422 rushing yards, which ranks seventh in school history, in 55-0 shutout over UNI... helped team tally 507 yards of total offense, including 298 rushing yards, in 40-0 season-opening shutout vs. Northern Illinois.

2025 Honors -- Academic All-Big Ten... Hustle Award, offense... Dean's List student (2026 spring). 2025 -- Played in 11 games... helped team tally 435 yards of total offense in 47-7 win over UMass... helped team rush for 200+ yards in five games (310 vs. UAlbany - which was the most in a season-opener since 2002, 245 vs. Penn State, 213 at Nebraska, 210 at Wisconsin, and 201vs. UMass)... letterwinner.

 

 

 

2024 Honors -- Academic All-Big Ten. 2024 -- Played on offensive line in three games.

2023 -- Did not see any game action.

High School Honors -- Earned all-conference and all-state Top 50 honors as a senior, while being named Mr. Football for offensive line… earned all-conference and all-state honors as a junior… earned academic all-state honors as a senior. Career -- Four-year starter in both football and wrestling… played both offensive and defensive line as a prep… helped prep team post four-year record of 43-9… team captain as a junior and senior… also competed in wrestling as a prep, placing third in wrestling state meet as a sophomore and junior… won state wrestling championship as a senior.

Personal -- Born 7/14/2004… sport and recreation management major… parents are Laurie and Marshall Jones… high school coach was Jon Hart.
