#25 Kelby Telander Season 2021-22

Hawk Item -- Honored as an Iowa Kid Captain in 2009.

2025 -- Played in all 11 games... recorded first career assisted tackle in 34-7 season-opening win over UAlbany and first career solo tackle in 16-18 loss to #9 Oregon.

2024 Honors -- Academic All-Big Ten... Dean's List student (2025 spring)... 2024 -- Played in only two games on special teams due to suffering a season-ending right knee injury in the Iowa State game (torn ACL and lateral meniscus)... letterwinner. 

2023 Honors -- Academic All-Big Ten… Dean’s List student (2024 spring)… 2023 -- Played in two games.

2022 Honors -- Academic All-Big Ten… Dean’s List student (2023 spring)… 2022 -- Did not see any game action… Team Leader Award winner for special teams.

2021 Honors -- Dean’s List student (2022 spring)… 2021 -- Redshirted after joining the program as a walk-on.

High School Honors -- Missed senior season after earning first-team all-district honors as a junior… honorable mention all-district as a sophomore… four-time academic all-conference honoree… Honor Roll student… National Honor Society member and National Honor Society Scholar… Career -- Three-year football letterman as defensive back, linebacker, wide receiver and quarterback… holds school workout records for hang clean (275) and bench press (225 x 6), 40-yard dash (4.52) and vertical jump (38.5)… recorded 34.5 tackles in seven games as a junior, with four interceptions, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and three total touchdowns… as a sophomore recorded 15.5 tackles, with two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one touchdown… team captain as a junior and senior… also competed in baseball and track as a prep… earned all-conference honors in both basketball and track… placed 15th at state track in 400-meter run (50.4).
