#24 Stephanie Ackerson Season 2005-06

2007 as a Junior… Academic all-Big Ten… started all 58 games, including 45 at first base and 13 at pitcher… threw a five-inning no-hitter in first game of the season against Howard (February 9)… struck out a career-high 10 batters against Dartmouth (March 3)… batted .212 with 18 RBI… went 2-4 with a career-high four RBI against UC Riverside (February 16).

2006 as a Sophomore… Academic all-Big Ten… named team’s Golden Glove award winner… appeared in 55 games with 54 starts at first base… started final 50 games of regular season… pitched in three games and threw three and 2/3 innings with two strikeouts… went 2-3 against South Dakota State in Hawkeye Classic… commited just one error during season… boasted a team-best .997 fielding percentage.

2005 as a Freshman… Appeared in 43 games, including 23 starts… started final four games of the season in NCAA Regional play… first career start was against Virginia Tech (February 12)… pitched in four games, throwing 7 1/3 innings… led the team with a 1.000 fielding percentage.

High School… Gatorade Player of the Year in 2004… three-time elite all-state selection… three-time first team all-district and all-conference selection… selected Pitcher of the Year in the state of Iowa in 2003… named captain to the state all-tournament team in 2004… holds 12 pitching and five hitting school records… hit .423 with eight home runs and 61 RBI while compiling a 31-1 record with a 0.40 ERA with 350 strikeouts in 2004… led her team to four straight conference championships and four state tournament berths… all-state selection in volleyball and basketball.
