Personal… Born in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh on June 22, 1997… daughter of Jay and Sarah Wittmeyer… Liberal Arts major…

Why Iowa… I choose UIowa for the midwest environment and the beautiful campus as well as the family atmosphere in the rowing team and the relationships between coaches and players.

My favorite aspect of rowing… My favorite aspect of rowing is the total in-syncness that occurs when all the rowers join together in perfect rhythm to make the boat move.

What made you want to become a rower… I was introduced to rowing by the admissions director at my high school and after trying it and hating it for the first two weeks, I finally had, what I call, a rowing epiphany where something just clicked and I got it, or a part of it. After that I fell in love with the beauty and majesty of the sport. That was in the fall, when it came time for winter season I got better and started winning indoor races as a novice. Then I just continued rowing and I began to be recruited. Now I am very excited to see what collegiate rowing has for me.
