Personal… Born September 9, 1999… daughter of Bryan Bergeron, Hanh Le… psychology and pre-med major.
Why Iowa… Family friends strongly recommended that I attend the University of Iowa, so I checked out the University.
My favorite aspect of rowing is… Teamwork. I love working together towards a common goal and rowing does that. You’ve got one coxswain and 8 rowers barreling down a river and its only team work that is going to keep you afloat.
What made you want to become a rower… Perhaps because my Vietnamese parents and ancestors lived and worked on the water, I have always been drawn to it. In fact, my first memories are that of water lapping the sides of our overburdened boat, my grandfather groaning as he coached it forward with a push pole. Years ago, when I mounted a C2 Erg during a triathlon boot camp, I instantly fell in love with the rhythm and the pull on my muscles. That’s when I knew I was going to join a rowing team.
