Abby Ernst joined the Hawkeyes on June 30, 2020.
Ernst has nine years of experience as an athlete and three as a coach. Most recently she was a graduate assistant coach at University of Wisconsin- Madison from 2018-2020. Prior to that she was a first assistant coach for the U23 Badger Development Camp for USRowing for one year and then a resident advisor and coach for US Rowing Junior National Team where she supervised junior athletes.
From 2014-2016, Ernst was a rowing coach and summer camp counselor at the Seattle Rowing Center.
As a collegiate athlete, Ernst was a two-time bronze medalist at the NCAA Championships (2015; 2v8, 2017;2v4), Big Ten sportsmanship honoree, and Henley Royal Regatta qualifier in 2017.
Ernst earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from The Ohio State University (2018) and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin (2020).
