In 2025, Schlapkohl helped Iowa’s Varsity Eight to its fourth year in a row, of Big Ten Boat of the Week awards. The Hawkeyes showcased their strongest outing of the season on the second day of the Kansas Double Duel, capturing victories in six of seven races.

In 2024, the team traveled to the Henley Royal Regatta where the Varsity Eight competed in the Island Challenge Cup and the Varsity Four raced in the Princess Grace Challenge Cup. The Hawkeyes also earned votes in the national polls for nine straight weeks. Eve Stewart (2020), qualified for the Great Britain Rowing Team for the 2024 Paris Olympics. She became the first Hawkeye rower to compete in the Olympics and win a Bronze medal.

In her debut season, Iowa spent 10 consecutive weeks on the CRCA Pocock Poll. The Hawkeyes finished the season with a fifth-place finish at the Big Ten Championship where the team earned 90 points – ranking as the fifth-highest total in program history.

Schlapkohl joined the Iowa Rowing coaching staff in 2023 as an assistant coach and the director of operations.

She is a two-time letterwinner. As a sophomore, Schlapkohl helped the 2N8+ crew to a first-place finish at the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual. She appeared in eleven competitions on the II Varsity Eight crew, one including helping Iowa to second place at the Big Ten Championships her final year at Iowa.

A Davenport, Iowa native, Schlapkohl is the daughter of Loren and Nancy Schlapkohl. She also studied elementary education at UI and finished her degree at Oxford Brookes University in England.
