TIFFIN, Ohio – University of Iowa track and field sophomore Ryan Johnson crushed his previous program record at the Robinson Family Open in Tiffin, Ohio, with a 24.59-meter throw. Johnson’s heave is the second-farthest in NCAA D1 in 2025.

The Hawkeyes travel to four meets during the Feb. 14-15 weekend. Iowa returns to the Jarvis Scott Open in Lubbock, Texas, with its sprints and hurdles groups. The jumps, multis, 400 and 800 groups head to the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The distance group will head to the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston, while the throws group travels to the Robinson Family Open in Tiffin, Ohio.

The Hawkeyes hit the road, traveling to the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Indiana, and the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational in Columbia, Missouri, on Friday and Saturday. Friday will begin in Missouri at 10 a.m. and the Meyo Invite will start at 2 p.m. Saturday’s action will begin at 9 a.m. in South Bend with an ESPN broadcast starting at 1 p.m. while competition at Missouri will get started at 11 a.m.
Hawkeyes Close Out Wieczorek Invitational with Updates to Top-10 List
IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa track and field made three updates to the program’s top-ten list on Saturday afternoon at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational inside the Hawkeye Indoor Track Facility. Freshmen Lillian Harden (60-meter hurdles) and Damaris Mutunga (400 meters) entered the all-time record book in their respective events. Sophomore Kai Graves-Blanks moved to eighth on Iowa’s all-time list in the 60-meter hurdles.
