Julia Gehl Season 2025-26

2026 -- Indoor - Ran collegiate bests in 800 meters at Meyo Invite (2:16.56), 1,000 meters (2:56.54) and mile (4:56.26) at Larry Wieczorek Invite, and in 3,000 meters at Hawkeye Invite (9:53.77)... won mile with a collegiate-best at Jimmy Grant Alumni Invite (4:56.64)... anchored team-leading distance medley relay that clocked a 11:27.97 at Meyo Invite, which ranks 10th all-time at Iowa.

2025 -- Indoor - Did not compete... Outdoor - Won 3,000 meters with a team-leading and collegiate-best 10:18.57 at Musco Twilight... ran a collegiate-best 4:38.09 in 1,500 meters at Cyclone Twilight... President’s List (Spring 2025)... Dean’s List (Fall 2024, Spring 2025)... letterwinner... Cross Country - Ran a collegiate-best 23:09.3 in 6,000 meters at Pre-Nationals and a season-best 14:49.3 in 4,000 meters at Hawkeye Invite... Academic All-Big Ten... Dean’s List (Fall 2025)... letterwinner.

 

 

High School -- Four-time all-state in cross country, three-time all-state in track and field, including elite all-star honors as a senior… placed 3rd as a junior in the state cross country meet and helped guide her team to two 4A state titles… two-time conference cross country champion as an individual, three-time conference champion as a team… was named the conference athlete of the year in track and field as a senior… did not compete in track and field as a junior due to injury… holds four school records, including the 1,500 (4:35.64) and the 3K (9:57.80), and as part of the 4×400 (3:59.33) and 4×800 (9:18.21)… 2022 champion in the 4×800 at the Drake Relays… coached by Scott Steepleton, Sharon Klein and Amanda Edwards… graduated as an AP scholar with honors… National Honor Society member… first-team academic all-conference as a junior and senior… elite academic all-state as a senior.

Personal -- Born March 15, 2006… parents are Randy and Carrie Gehl… has two siblings, Anna, and twin sister, Lauren, who both attend the University of Iowa… pre-business major.
