Miriam Sandeen Season 2024-25

2021 -- Cross Country - Competed in five of six races... posted season bests in 4,000 meters at Hawkeye Invite (14:38.8), 5,000 meters at Dirksen-Greeno Invite (17:54.2), and 6,000 meters at Bradley Pink Classic (21:51.2)... letterwinner. 

High School -- Placed fifth in 3,200 meters (10:42) and sixth in 1,600 meters (4:55) at state meet senior year... set school record in 1,600 meters (4:55)... all-state, all-conference and academic all-state in cross country senior year...  named most inspiration runner on cross country team, and most outstanding runner and team captain in track senior year... coached by Jeff Lindlief and Jimmy Barlass. 

Personal -- Born July 2, 2003... parents are Jayson and Rebeka Sandeen... siblings are Ana and Sofia... exercise science major.

2025 -- Indoor - Ran collegiate bests in mile (5:10.13) and 3,000 meters (9:53.05) at Larry Wieczorek Invite, and 5,000 meters at BU Hemery Valentine Invite (16:44.64).

2024 -- Indoor - Ran season bests in mile at Larry Wieczorek Invite (5:15.97), 3,000 meters at Meyo Invite ( 10:13.41), and 5,000 meters at Iowa Open (17:26.01)... Outdoor - Ran a collegiate-best 16:59.13 in 5,000 meters at Drake Relays... ran anchor leg on team-leading distance medley relay at Drake Relays (11:59.28)... Academic All-Big Ten... letterwinner... Cross Country - Iowa’s top finisher in five races... placed 51st with a collegiate-best 20:55 at NCAA Midwest Regional (6,000 meters)... placed fourth a collegiate-best 14:20.4 in 4,000 meters at Hawkeye Invite, 30th at Bradley Pink Classic (21:05.6-6,000 meters), 22nd at B1G Preview (21:13.2-6,000 meters), and 104th at B1G Championships (20:58.6)... Iowa’s B1G Sportsmanship Award winner... Academic All-Big Ten... letterwinner.

2023 -- Indoor - Did not compete... Outdoor - Ran season-best 1,500 meters at ISU Alumni Invite (4:47.48)... Academic All-Big Ten... Cross Country - Academic All-Big Ten... letterwinner.

2022 -- Track - Did not compete... Cross Country - Academic All-Big Ten.
