SACRAMENTO, CA – Hawkeye sophomore Peaches Roach advanced to Saturday evening’s high jump finals at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, CA. She tied for first in Thursday’s preliminary with 14 other competitors, clearing a height of 5-10 3/4. Roach, an indoor high jump all-American from Kingston, Jamaica, was one of seven competitors to clear all their attempts during the preliminary round. Saturday’s event finals are scheduled to start at 9 p.m. (CT).

Also competing Thursday for the Hawkeyes was junior Tim Brodersen. He placed 16th in the discus preliminary with a throw of 179-0. Roach and freshman Kineke Alexander are the lone Hawkeyes still competing in the national meet. Alexander, who was an indoor all-American in the 400 meters, will run in the 400-meter semifinals Friday night. The race is scheduled to start at 9:40 p.m. (CT).
