University of Iowa senior Peaches Roach led the Hawkeyes Saturday, by winning two titles at the Jack Johnson Classic in Minneapolis, MN. The meet included athletes from six different schools; South Dakota State, North Dakota State, Minnesota State University Mankato, Manitoba and Minnesota.
Roach provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the high jump by clearing a winning height of 5-10 (1.78 m). She also brought home first place in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.66. Kineke Alexander took first place in the 600 meters for the second week in a row, with a winning time of 1:28.74. The final event that a Hawkeye was crowned champion was in the 60 meter hurdles where Tiffany Johnson ran a season-best time of 8.50.
The Hawkeyes next competition will be at the Carle/Health Alliance Invitational in Champaign, IL on Jan. 27.
